No No No…

Kurt Vonnegut died at 84. The man smoked, I guess he did have a damn good run though. I am not much of a reader and even less of a writer, but of all the books I have read his have been the most fun. I read mostly comic books, so as far as non-graphic novels go my experience is limited, and the rest of the crap I read is not fiction- unless theories fall under fiction. His work has been a favorite of mine. I love the fact that I can start one of his books and be done with it in a couple days or less and be totally satisfied with the time spent turning the pages.

His social commentary and wit will be missed. RIP

Youtube has the Dolls

I am under a ton of pressure right now, and where do I end up? Www.pitchforkmedia.com where they have 100 videos listed- of course I got lost in the ten pages of goodies. Art of noise and other 80’s treats are there, lots of great hip-hop classics. After the diversion that lasted way too long I was still yearning for more! So a little searching later and I found this Dresden Dolls, there were also some others (the insane Solex, Coco Rosie live) but I figured I might want to get back to do that grad school thing…

These are from New Mexico, took a bunch of photos and will post a few more later. They are in an amazing area with a once lived in feeling I can’t explain. If you click on the image it will take you to flickr where there are few more, mostly petroglyphs which are carved or chipped out of the rock, and a couple pictographs which are painted.
